Brent C.

Brent Carter received his degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from Texas Tech University with an emphasis on biomechanics and exercise physiology. He has close to 10 years of experience coaching clients of all populations and with various goals. Brent is certified through the NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS), is a competitive powerlifter and a Certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition. Much like his mentor, Mark Rippetoe, Brent has a strong foundation in barbell training techniques and underwent a rigorous certification process to become a Starting Strength Coach. Brent is also a member of the Starting Strength Seminar staff. Along the way, to aid in developing his “coach’s eye,” he founded the Focus Barbell Club, a weekly educational meet-up dedicated to learning the basic barbell lifts: Squat, bench, deadlift, press and power clean. In addition to working with clients, Brent is a Focus Personal Training Institute faculty member, instructing the Advanced Concepts portion of the 700 Personal Training Master Course.
