Born in Bulgaria, Emmy and her family moved to Toronto, Canada when she was five years old. At the age of 8, she began competitive figure skating and went on to compete internationally for Bulgaria in the Junior Grand Prix Circuit. A high school athlete, Emmy was a member of her school’s varsity track & field team as well as the women’s rugby, hockey and cheerleading teams. Her love for athleticism and all sports was evident at a young age.
Emmy went on to graduate from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Specialization Degree in Urban Development (BA) and was team captain of the figure skating team. Post graduation, Emmy went into the insurance industry and after three successful years, she decided to make a career change and focus on her passion for health and fitness. She moved to New York to attend the Focus Personal Training Institute’s (FPTI) 700-hour Personal Training Master Course program and landed one of only four internship positions with Focus Integrated Fitness. Emmy’s FPTI education was the binding piece to all her years of experience training in the gym as an athlete.
Now working with Focus Integrated Fitness in Los Angeles, Emmy enjoys taking advantage of the beautiful year-round weather and, when appropriate, takes her client’s workouts outdoors. Her unique journey has molded her into an effective and efficient personal trainer who constantly strives to further her education in the fitness industry.
