Matthew F.

FPTI, NSCA-CPT, USAW Level 1

Born in Connecticut and raised in New York City, Matt has been an avid athlete his entire life. Basketball, football, baseball , and lacrosse were his focus early on, with football and rugby soon becoming his main passions. Matt played football at the collegiate level for Hobart College then transitioned into a Division 1 rugby player at Colorado University, Boulder. Competitive Rugby had a significant influence on the way Matt trained. It not only opened his eyes to the wide range of training modalities necessary to become a successful athlete but also in setting the foundation for his passion in working with others and ultimately becoming a personal trainer.

After graduating from college, Matt realized that his passion for fitness was something he wanted to pursue as a career, so moved back to New York and enrolled in Focus Personal Training Institute’s 600 Hour Personal Training Master Course. Since graduating from FPTI, Matt has dedicated himself to learning from others and enhancing his skill as a professional trainer and an athlete. Matt's mission is to emphasize the life-changing benefits that training can impart on anyone, no matter if they're an athlete, recovering from an injury, or working with a trainer for the first time.
